What SODOO is
What is SODOO?
SODOO is a web-based business management system that runs a company's sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, project, accounting, HR and document processes in one database. It is built on the Odoo 19 Community core, extended with modules written by PORTWARE, and used from the browser.
How is SODOO different from Odoo?
Odoo is the core; SODOO is a system built on that core, localised for Türkiye and extended with more than a hundred modules of its own. The office suite (SODOO Office), the AI assistant (Cowork AI), Gantt and agile project boards, durable notification history, a CAD viewer and a dealer portal are not part of standard Odoo.
Which applications does SODOO include?
CRM and sales, quotations and orders, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing (MRP), PLM, quality, projects and tasks, timesheets, field service and maintenance, accounting and e-invoicing, budgets and KPIs, HR and payroll, document management, a knowledge base, e-commerce and a B2B dealer portal, and an AI assistant.
Who is SODOO for?
It was designed for small and midsize companies whose processes are scattered across separate programs and spreadsheets, that manufacture or run projects, and that issue Turkish e-invoices. It can be installed for a single department or for the whole company.
Who develops SODOO?
PORTWARE. The system already runs in production: SMB Technics and Akım Metal run their own business on it, so the screens were built for daily use rather than for a demo.
Can I see a demo?
Yes. There is a demo environment filled with a fictional company called PORTWARE and no real customer data, where you can try your own processes before going live. Ask for it on the contact page.
Setup and migration
How long does setup take?
Scope decides the duration, not a calendar. Core processes such as sales, inventory and accounting usually go live first; manufacturing, projects, quality and HR follow in stages, each with its own training and data migration.
Can we bring our existing data?
Yes. Customers, suppliers, products, stock and open balances are imported from Excel/CSV templates. Historical documents are a separate decision: migrate them all, or carry over balances only.
Do we have to switch off our current program?
No. Most companies start with one process — quotations and sales, or project tracking — run the old system in parallel for a while, and move the rest afterwards.
Can it be changed to fit our processes?
Yes. Fields, screens, approval flows, reports and printed documents are adapted to your company, and modules are written for you when needed. Because the core is open source, those changes do not depend on a vendor's permission list.
What happens at upgrades?
PORTWARE performs the upgrade: first on a copy of production, with the test suite run against it, then live. A backup is taken before every upgrade.
Data, security and backups
Where is our data kept?
The database runs on your own server or on one PORTWARE manages; you decide. Either way the schema is open and the whole dataset can be exported whenever you want.
How are backups handled?
The whole database is backed up automatically every day and the backups are kept on a separate server, so the data survives the loss of the server itself.
Who can see what?
Permissions are group-based: a user only opens the screens and records their role sees. Record-level limits can be set per company, department, project or dealer, and external users (dealers, customers) only see documents shared with them.
Can we see who changed a record?
Yes. Every record carries a message thread, attachments and a change trail; office documents and HTML documents are versioned on top of that, and two versions can be compared.
What about data protection?
The data stays in a database under your control rather than being handed to an overseas SaaS provider. Screens holding personal data can use permission limits, an audit trail and archiving.
Compliance and accounting
Is Turkish e-invoicing supported?
Yes. e-Invoice, e-Archive and e-Waybill together with the uniform chart of accounts are installed; invoices are issued inside SODOO and sent through the integrator.
Can it replace our accounting program?
SODOO's accounting lives in the same database as sales, purchasing and inventory: issuing an invoice moves the journal entry, the stock and the collection in one chain. It can be set up as full accounting or as pre-accounting, depending on how you work with your accountant.
Can we design our own reports?
Yes. Lists on screen are grouped, filtered and saved; dashboard widgets, spreadsheet exports and the layout of printed documents are adapted to your company.
Can it handle several companies and currencies?
Yes. Several companies live in one database, each with its own chart of accounts, document layout and logo; multiple currencies and exchange differences are supported.
Office and documents
What is SODOO Office?
The layer that lets you open and edit Word, Excel and presentation files in the browser, on the record itself, without downloading them; it is built on ONLYOFFICE. Several people can work in the same file at once and every save leaves a version.
Does it replace Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?
For editing documents, co-authoring and version history, yes — and because the file lives on the record, which quotation, project or product it belongs to is never lost. For mail and calendar SODOO has its own tools and also works with your existing mail server.
Can we open technical drawings?
Yes. The CAD viewer opens DWG/DXF-type files in the browser; SODRAW draws diagrams, SOTION holds knowledge-base pages, and HTML documents produce designed, versioned internal documents.
Is document history kept?
Yes. Office files and HTML documents are versioned; two versions can be compared, and restoring an old version does not delete the newer one — it is written as a new version.
Artificial intelligence (Cowork AI)
What is Cowork AI?
The AI assistant inside SODOO. It opens on every screen, reads the record you are looking at and its attachments, summarises, drafts, prepares reports and answers your question from the system's own data.
Which AI models are used?
Several providers are supported and the company uses its own keys; the model and the thinking budget are chosen per tier of work. You decide which model runs and how much is spent.
Is our data used to train AI models?
No. Calls go through the company's own provider account; which provider runs under which terms is your contract, and the scope can be limited per screen.
Is the AI stopped from making things up?
Cowork grounds its answer in the system's own records: it reads the record, the attachment and the report with tools, and shows what it read. Rather than inventing, it says which record it could not read.
How is the cost controlled?
The spend of every call is recorded and reported; tier and thinking-budget settings limit where expensive models are allowed to run.
Licensing, cost and support
Is there a per-user licence fee?
SODOO's core is Odoo 19 Community and is open source; PORTWARE's modules are licensed LGPL-3. No closed-source per-user licence fee is required.
What determines the cost?
Scope: which processes are set up, how much data is migrated, which custom development is needed, how many people are trained and who hosts the system. Those items are quoted.
Could we move to another firm later?
Yes. The core is open source, the schema is open and the data is on your server; the code and the database are handed over. There is no locking proprietary format.
How does support work?
The system ships a handbook, application guides and per-screen help. On top of that PORTWARE provides go-live training, upgrades and fault support.
